I think the weight is unavoidable for something this sturdy, and some people mentioned that the zipper on the compression area inside is tight, but I actually liked that because once compressed, it hardly comes undone. I packed winter clothes for 4 people to change at the airport, and compressed them, so the size got smaller, which was also great.
